Slate & Stone, a New York-based men’s sportswear collection, has named Jeff Block president.
Block served most recently as vice president of sales for several brands within the Perry Ellis portfolio. He has also held vice president positions at Cockpit USA and Original Penguin.
At Slate & Stone, Block will develop a strategic plan to promote sales growth and profitability. He will also oversee operations to ensure production efficiency and develop a global sales force.
“The modern luxury, contemporary consumer expects a more in-depth, cultural connection with the brand before he purchases,” Block said. “My excitement on the merchandising side for Slate & Stone will include a more prestige- and lifestyle-driven point of view.”
Gary Jacobs, principal of Slate & Stone, said Block’s “background with some of the biggest names in contemporary men’s wear is a perfect fit for our brand. We’re looking forward to Jeff’s guidance.”
