The honorees for the 2016 Femmy Awards, which celebrate individuals and companies that have contributed to the intimate apparel industry, range from an Internet giant to a plus-size retailer.
Those being recognized include retailer, Amazon Fashion; manufacturer, Richard Leeds International; supplier, Best Pacific/New Horizon; Lane Bryant/Cacique, which will receive the Innovation Award; Martin Trust, founder and former chief executive officer of Mast Industries, who will receive the Lifetime Achievement Award, and Francesca Spinetta, co-owner and editorial director of Best of Intima who will receive the President’s Award.
The awards, which take place on Feb. 2 at Cipriani 42nd Street in New York City, are presented by The Underfashion Club, a nonprofit organization that’s dedicated to education within the intimate apparel industry. The gala raises money for the organization’s scholarship, awards, internship and grants programs. In 2014 the nonprofit, which will celebrate its 58th anniversary next year, provided $200,000 in scholarships, awards and internships to design and merchandising students.
