Kanye West‘s Yeezy Season 3, presented at Madison Square Garden Thursday with a spectacle orchestrated by performance artist Vanessa Beecroft, was flush with new shoe styles likely to initiate the same frenzy as accessories from West’s prior seasonal outings — which have fetched in excess of $20,000 on the secondhand market.
Among the shoes due to hit Yeezy partner retailers including Barneys New York are a clunky take on canvas duck boots. Models of both genders wore the unisex style, which will be released in a palette including a colorblock gray and purple version, as well as all-ivory and all-black iterations.
But not all of Kanye’s shoes drew instant praise. A tweet by Kim Kardashian previewing the collection’s high-heel PVC boots drew ire on the Internet early Thursday, with bloggers drawing comparison between this design and boots from Christian Dior’s fall 2015 season.
