Allison Williams has been to the Met Gala a number of times, but this year was a particularly poignant one for her, as her role as Marnie Michaels on “Girls” has come to an end. A longtime fan of Diane von Furstenberg, the actress and her stylist approached Von Furstenberg and DVF creative director, Jonathan Saunders on her dress this year for a fresh new look. And while Williams’ and her stylist, Cristina Ehrlich, chose something completely news for her — there was a bit or irony and nostalgia in their ultimate choice
