NEW YORK — Fritz Winans, group president of Liz Claiborne Inc.’s better and moderate divisions, has been named to the new position of managing director, Asia development.
Winans will be based in Hong Kong and will have dual responsibilities. He will oversee business development in Asia, reporting to Trudy Sullivan, executive vice president of Claiborne. In addition, he will manage the company’s Asian offices in evolving the supply chain, reporting to John Sullivan, chief information officer and senior vice president, sourcing, service and systems.
Winans will work closely with Jorge Figueredo, president of Liz Claiborne International, in offering the firm’s brands in different countries throughout the region.
Winans has been with Claiborne for the past 10 years. Earlier, he held posts at Nygård, I.B. Diffusion and Levi Strauss & Co.
Trudy Sullivan will continue to oversee the better and moderate businesses, and she will work closely with Denise Johnston, president of Liz Claiborne Apparel, and Aru Kulkami, president of department store moderate brands, until a successor is named.
