GIORGIO ARMANI LICENSES FOSSIL FOR EMPORIO WATCHES
NEW YORK — Fossil Inc. said it has entered into a multiple-year, worldwide licensing agreement with Giorgio Armani for a new line of watches called Emporio Armani Orologi. According to Fossil executive vice president Richard Gundy, the line is targeted at the bridge category of watches, and will retail this November for $100 to $500.
“We are working on a targeted distribution plan at this point, and they will be shown in the August market for retailers,” Gundy said.
Gundy said the distribution will be aimed at stores that do bridge watch business. They will also be carried by the Emporio Armani boutiques.
“We want to make sure it’s well positioned, well displayed,” he said.
The line will be shown first out of the Armani showroom in New York during the August market.
Watches will be mostly crafted with Japanese movements and will include steel faces and a mix of steel and leather bands.
