MATT DAMON: CALVIN TALKS DIDN’T HAPPEN
NEW YORK — Matt Damon won’t be working for Calvin Klein after all. In fact, his agent said the designer never even approached him.
This comes in response to a story in WWD on Thursday, page 4, that said the actor was in discussions with Klein about becoming the designer’s next big face — and body.
A spokesman for Calvin Klein confirmed that the company had approached Ben Affleck, Damon’s “Good Will Hunting” co-star and writing partner, and actor Dermot Mulroney, from “My Best Friend’s Wedding,” about appearing in ads. But Hollywood sources say both Affleck and Mulroney declined immediately.
And it appears Calvin won’t be getting the guys for the Oscars, either. Both Damon and Affleck are said to have been already outfitted for the Academy Awards by Giorgio Armani.
