FACE VALUE: “She’s like a black Bjork,” men’s wear designer Adrian Sauvage enthused about FKA Twigs’ performance at the party MAC Cosmetics threw to mark the start of London Fashion Week.
“Really, she’s so mesmerizing,” added Sauvage, who has been keeping a low profile on the men’s wear scene for the past few seasons. “Yeah, I just didn’t want to be that dick who’s all, ‘Hey man! I had a baby!’ But I did, I had a baby, and I’m kind of obsessed, but I’ll be back next season.”
Also making plans for the London Collections: Men in January is Lou Dalton, who was making an early exit. “I need to go home; I need to eat,” she explained. “I had a couple of cheese twists but I’m hungry and I need a burger and I have to be up early because I’m working on a couple of projects for the men’s show in January.”
Twigs, who was supported by MAC at her “Congregatta” show in London earlier this year, gave an energetic performance to a rapt audience of East London club kids and models at the Circus Space.
