Minimalism Makes its Mark at Anne Klein

For the Anne Klein show, hairstylist Orlando Pita wanted to create a look that reflected the clothing. “I wanted something that was minimalist, architectural and feminine,” said Pita. To create the style, he slicked the hair back and left it down but created lots of texture on the bottom. To texturize, he flipped the hair up on the very bottom and used T3 360 Plump Volume Spray followed by Kérastase’s texture hair spray. He also added extensions as needed to create a blunt-cut look.

For makeup, James Kaliardos, working with MAC Cosmetics, highlighted the eyes with a white pencil on the outer corners and dabbed the inner part with Luna, a white highlighting cream. Instead of using mascara, he glossed the eyes and used a Bamboo eye shadow on the eyelid. “We’re building up the face with color, shape and highlights, yet keeping it to the basics,” said Kaliardos. On the cheeks, he mixed foundation with cream and blended it with blush just to add a little coloration to the skin. For the lips, he used Peach Stock lipstick.

CND, who also sponsored the show, put a clear coat called Air Dry Finish on the fingernails and Serenity on the toes, following the base coat Ridge Out.
