“I wanted to come back to the origins of jewelry, with pieces that tell personal stories,” said jewelry designer Delfina Delettrez, whose Victorian-inspired collection, Love is in the Hair, immortalized cherished keepsakes, gems and charms in large clear resin heart pendants hung on chunky Eighties-style collars. The designs were showcased on 11 surrealist hair sculptures. Crowned with silver daisies and an enamel bee, one heart contained a curled lock from Delettrez’s daughter Emma’s first haircut. On the Addolorata Collar, a heart speared with golden arrows, and tiny rubies dangling from their feathers, had a shard of brut ruby. Clients can order their own customized versions. Delettrez also introduced a miniature metallic purse — available in gold, rose gold and silver versions — attached by a fine chain to a skull ring. “It’s for women who don’t need anything. It’s big enough for a cigarette and a hotel key, but what else do you need?” she asked.
