Illesteva opens its fifth retail store today, representing its largest location at 1,100 square feet.
The store, at 814 Lexington Ave, between 62 and 63 Streets, represents its second New York location. The other store is in downtown Manhattan in SoHo. Other locations are Boston, Miami and Los Angeles.
The location includes the firm’s first “Build Your Own” sunglasses bar. The eyewear brand will also offer optical services beginning in August.
Daniel Silberman, chief executive officer, said he chose Lexington Avenue instead of Madison Avenue because he liked the location and that it “was important for us to stay true to our ethos, and we like pushing the envelope when it comes to designer sunglasses, so opening on Lexington just felt right.”
He added that the store also will feature leather goods and an umbrella collection.
