In an effort to enhance printing efficiency, dyes and chemicals provider Huntsman Textile Effects developed a new range of reactive inks for industrial ink jet printing. The company said the line of dyes, called NOVACRON XKS HD, achieve deep, very deep and true black shades on multiple fibers.
The inks’ high color strength means less ink is needed to get a desired color depth—Huntsman said they yield 50 percent more color intensity than other available reactive inks—and the high performance result means printer maintenance or downtime is minimized, as is ink waste.
“Industrial digital printing faces the challenge of delivering superior quality and optimum print reliability while effectively managing cost and environmental impact,” said Huntsman global director of new business development Joerg von Allmen. “NOVACRON XKS HD inks address these demands and deliver the full effect of digital designs–intense, vivid colors and top quality finishing.”
NOVACRON XKS HD inks can also work in conjunction with Huntsman’s PREPAJET UNI pre-preparation auxiliary. The special polymer structure of the auxiliary prevents ink migration on the fabric enabling optimum sharpness, definition and color intensity, according to the company. Application and removal of the PREPAJET UNI is easy and it is suitable for use on all fibers.
The new ink range includes eight high-density colors, and Huntsman said its high quality color-fastness is ideal for industrial printing of apparel and home textiles.
