In the 1940s, teenager Barbara Hunter was camping in the desert with friends. While exploring the Calico Mine, she scrambled through a small opening and discovered a pile of jeans. She picked out the best looking pair, took them home, mended them and wore them to school. One day while doing laundry she read the print on the pocket bag…”For over 17 years”… and realized her jeans were from the 1890s. She gave them to Levi’s and they gave her two new pairs.
