    While her most well-known Oscars red carpet look was her Bob Mackie two-piece jewel encrusted set with matching feathery headpiece, Cher also made waves on the red carpet years earlier in 1974 in another look by the designer, this time a matching floral beach sarong-esque outfit with a matching headpiece.

    Kim Basinger designed her own gown for the Oscars in 1990 — a white satin half corset half blazer jacket dress — which didn’t sit well with red carpet commentators, some referring to the look as one of the worst in the history of the awards show.
