“The fall collection is inspired by neoplasticism color variances while bridging the past and the present of modernity.” — Romeo Hunte
“I have fond memories of conversations with my grandmother and what it was like living in Sydney in the Twenties. The starting point for the collection became a look at the life of female students attending the Women’s College, University of Sydney, during the time of young women playing sport wearing traditional men’s attire — cricket whites and team blazers — slouchy sweaters, oversized coats. The inspiration is more about the overall mood around these women, rather than the dress of the period and the time itself.” — Nicky Zimmermann, Zimmermann
“I was inspired by the relationship between Robert Mapplethorpe and Carolina Herrera — the tension between a figure seen as subversive versus someone portrayed as the epitome of class and elegance. I love the complexity of a woman who is rebellious in her own way, but has a sense of class and tradition.” — Jonathan Cohen
“Madrid.” — Alejandra Alonso Rojas
“Wrong turn.” — Mona Kowalska, A Détacher
“My inspiration for Adeam fall is Gothic and Lolita, which is a Japanese street culture based in Victorian and Edwardian clothing with elements of punk.” — Hanako Maeda, Adeam
“For the Novis fall collection, I have looked to Danish and Swedish modern design and the contrast between structure and fluidity, through florals, plaids, geometry and use of texture.” — Jordana Warmflash, Novis
“Time is like a spiral. My collection is inspired by the intersection of past and future.” — Chi Zhang
“Dreamland where women live, dance and rule.” — Pamplemousse
“The golden triangle.” — Adam Lippes
“At this point in time, we all need to rise up and continue embracing equality and inclusion despite all social constructs. I don’t design for a particular woman — I design for everyone. For fall 2017, Adrienne Landau persists in celebrating and supporting love, unity and freedom of expression!” — Adrienne Landau
“Inspired by whimsical dreams of air travel, the collection came to life in a loop of sketching and dozing during flights back and forth from [our] hometown, Vancouver and New York City.” — Laurence Li and Chico Chico Wang, Laurence and Chico

“Terraform Mars.” — Collina Strada
“For fall, I am very inspired by Robert Mapplethorpe’s ‘Flowers’ series and how he captured, in those pared-down compositions, masculinity exuding from their feminine forms. It made me explore androgyny in real-life dressing in the same manner by creating graceful and sensual silhouettes out of men-inspired shirts and pants, or imposing delicate details on boyish shapes. I want strong, but ultrafeminine clothes. I want to bypass the men’s suiting-worn-by-women stereotypes for a fresh take on androgynous dressing.” — Sylvie Millstein, Hellessy
“1920s Meisen robes.” — Tanya Taylor
“We always like to envisage the context in which our woman lives; she can be equally at home in her uptown Manhattan apartment or a windswept beach in Deauville, Normandy — her wardrobe of effortlessly chic essentials represents the rich textured life of a woman well traveled.” — Frame
“Uncrushable.” — Namilia
“This season, I was thinking of eclectic women throughout the ages who live nonconformist lives. Whether it’s living in a hotel, or wearing a winter coat in the summer or a bikini in the winter (under a fur, of course), I like people who do the opposite of what is expected of them and wanted to reflect that this season.” — Georgine Ratelband, Georgine
“For fall, I was inspired by the iconic Bond Girls.” — Mary Alice Haney, Haney
“Architect of Atmosphere.” — Haus Alkire
“Return to the Hermitage.” — Kobi Halperin

We focused on essential underpinnings and updated some of our favorite streetwear silhouettes.” — Kendall Jenner, Photograph by Kendall Jenner “Our continued focus on clean and modern shapes with a twist is always our foundation. Working with our creative team, we picked a ‘House Party’ theme for some of our collection, we took modern and classic street-style shapes and gave them a twist using new cutaway details and modern trims.
