“I have fond memories of conversations with my grandmother and what it was like living in Sydney in the Twenties. The starting point for the collection became a look at the life of female students attending the Women’s College, University of Sydney, during the time of young women playing sport wearing traditional men’s attire — cricket whites and team blazers — slouchy sweaters, oversized coats. It made me explore androgyny in real-life dressing in the same manner by creating graceful and sensual silhouettes out of men-inspired shirts and pants, or imposing delicate details on boyish shapes.
