Getting Ready for ‘The Great Gatsby’ Broadway Premiere with Noah J. Ricketts
“We all need one last hair check in the mirror before we get ready, right?”

“As a fun hobby, I go to school for jewelry design in Brooklyn. I’ve been a longtime fan of Brooklyn-based jewelry designer Bernard James. He was so kind to lend me these really special pieces for the opening night of ‘The Great Gatsby.’ I felt like I needed a watch to complete the look and Omega was kind enough to lend me this classic watch. Timeless, Beautiful and the perfect homage to Jay Gatsby.”
“These boots are Ernest W. Baker. I needed something sleek to complement the red suit and these were the perfect choice. The heel is the perfect height, and the patent leather gives the outfit that added pop.”
“This Bernard James necklace is from the flora collection. Each of the 14k Flowers is layered with a black diamond. I wanted to make sure it was laying right before I walked out of The Plaza.”
“The Plaza hotel is such a New York staple. I couldn’t leave without getting an elevator shot. It was a little surreal to be able to get ready for the premiere in such an iconic location that is actually featured in the show.”
“The best part about this job is getting to work with the other actors. Putting on a Broadway show is tough, so you become like family. This is me hugging my co-star Samantha Pauly. This is the moment I saw her in her gorgeous sequined look. Shoutout to L.G.R. For these amazing sunglasses. They were the perfect pair to block out the New York sun.
“Every year I pick a color that represents how I want to show up in the world. This year was red. It represents passion and power. I designed this modern suit myself and had it custom made by my tailor Phuong. She is truly a genius. I love the juxtaposition of this modern look with the empty Broadway theatre in the background. This is the calm before the storm of opening night.”
“There is nothing like opening a Broadway show. These are the moments I dreamed about as a kid and I’m so lucky it’s become my reality. These are the moments I’ll never forget.”
