Rocha’s roots and seasonal inspiration of Irish wren boys were celebrated with three beauty looks created by Thomas De Kluyver. The most striking one involved hand-painting six different kinds of feathers – all belonging to Irish birds – on the middle of eight models’ forehead and down the bridge of their nose. Other ten girls sported a punkish gaze created smudging an eyeliner pencil in black or white. In this case, De Kluyver additionally switched to a liquid eyeliner to draw a messy shape and pulled out the lines with a dry cotton tip, while another layer of product delivered extra-texture. The rest of the models were sent down the catwalk with a natural makeup, while everyone’s skin was left raw “to counterbalance all the strong details.” – Sandra Salibian

Duffy marked his comeback to London Fashion Week after a three-year hiatus with a bang. The hair stylist created three main looks for the show, all centered on a Victorian inspiration. Using KMS products, he overloaded the manes with anti-humidity spray and blow dried them very flat to have one somber, central-parted and overly-dried matte look on the front. On the back, some girls had their locks shaped in a simple French braid while others got French box braids with raffia inserts. Five models boasted an extremely elaborate version of the look, as their manes where divided into five sections before being box braided with even more raffia for an enhanced graphic effect. “What makes it Victorian is the position of the hair on the side. It sits at the very top corners of the head as almost every single Victorian updo lifted from the face, exaggerating the cheekbones and creating [a marked angle] in profile,” said Duffy, who finished off the looks adding Rocha’s signature bejeweled hair clips and raffia headbands. – Sandra Salibian
