Karl Lagerfeld’s final collection for Chanel was presented in a winter wonderland of his imagination, complete with vast, snowy mountains and wooden chalets. The accessories played on the alpine theme: shearling trimmed bags, furry backpacks, logo hair clips in the shapes of snowflakes and luxurious leather scarf bandanas. Alongside myriad logo jewels, from earrings featuring the double C logo to long black and white pearl necklaces that spelled out the brand’s name, they highlighted the late designer’s savvy in playing with the brand’s codes and maintaining their relevance season after season. — Natalie Theodosi

Gaia Repossi presented her label’s new Blast collection which included rings and a cuff formed by thick stacks of gold rings punctuated by a large diamond on one end, as if they were floating. “It’s a rhythm, a repetition of rings — it’s not playful but rather strict,” she said. The Lebe collection featured sautoir necklaces with straight, diamond-encrusted links that could be shortened. She added extra touches of color in the form of large, square-cut yellow diamonds. The latest addition to the Bebere collection was a stunner: A necklace featuring a series of discs in the label’s signature, darkened gold that was encrusted with 2,000 diamonds, totaling 40 carats. — Mimosa Spencer

It was all pearls, gold and diamonds for Delfina Delettrez, who worked these three elements into a delicate and slightly punk line-up, twisting the classics to fit a younger crowd. “Consumers are spoiled, they always want something new. But I think nothing is more beautiful than classics tha can travel through time and not necessarily be stuck on trends of the moment,” said the designer. The collection included nose jewelry, including pear-cut diamonds meant to sit between the nostrils. The designer plans to push into higher ground, for a collection she plans to present during the haute couture shows in July. — Mimosa Spencer

Demna Gvasalia shared his vision of  “the real Parisian of today” for fall. Far removed from the romantic stereotypes often attached to the fashion capital, Gvasalia focused on Paris as a buzzing metropolis and Parisians’ common daily activities, hence the brown-paper grocery bag shapes done in leather and stamped with a logo resembling the one for “bio,” or organic, products in France. He also added his wry humor on the Eiffel Tower rings that featured throughout in the lineup and “I love Paris” prints splattered all over small, crossbody bags. — Natalie Theodosi

  • Best Accessories for Fall 2019 from Fashion Week: Stella McCartney

  • Best Accessories for Fall 2019 from Fashion Week: Loewe

At Loewe, Jonathan Anderson wanted to “reduce things” to purer, simpler forms. In the handbag department, this was translated into an array of minimalist satchels in beige and black hues, such as this leather and suede version here. However, Anderson didn’t stop playing with contrasts and paired his modernist creations with more decorative elements such as metal fringing or feather headbands. — Natalie Theodosi

Natasha Ramsay-Levi paid tribute to Karl Lagerfeld in her fall 2019 collection and had his mantra of using fashion to “transform the everyday into a fairy tale” in mind. That’s why she sprinkled lucky charms and talismans across the range, including a horseshoe pendant necklace with goat hair and shark tooth charms that is bound to be a retail hit. Feathers were also added onto the brand’s signature ‘Tess’ cross-body bags, while an oversize clutch was done in a deep purple fur, adding a bolder, more playful dimension to this season’s Chloé girl. — Natalie Theodosi

Gherardo Felloni enlisted some live wolves to give things a little extra bite at Roger Vivier’s fall 2019 presentation. The designer commandeered an imposing Parisian mansion and themed each room on a dream. Said wolves (accompanied by highly trained handlers) roamed amid an enchanted forest, though this particular fairytale had a happy ending in that both guests and Felloni’s new Virgule pump emerged unscathed. The new style was a reinterpretation of an archive shape and came with asymmetric strap or as a Mary Jane complete with exploded bow. Another collection highlight was a new rodeo boot silhouette. “I am obsessed with country and Western singers,” said Felloni, “so I decided to do a couture cowboy boot with a strass buckle.” — Stephanie Hirschmiller

  • Best Accessories for Fall 2019 from Fashion Week: Tabitha Simmons

When it comes to footwear, Tabitha Simmons wrote the playbook on the XY mix. This season’s star attraction was her new Ferrin boot. The Victoriana inspired mid-heel lace-up is finished with a flourish of vintage grosgrain just like a tuxedo – the designer sourced the ribbon from an old school haberdashery in Paris so when it’s gone it’s gone. Elsewhere were brogue inspired laser-cut styles with pretty scalloped edges while signature Simmons’ silhouettes such as the Levi boot and Hermione flat were reimagined in menswear fabrics like herringbone and jacquard. The latter came in a floral weave which Simmons named ‘Climbing Violet’ after her one-year-old daughter. She also updated Duchess of Sussex favorite, the Millie slingback, in sizzling python and a more demure, and royal-approp, shade of blush. — Stephanie Hirschmiller
