“Inspired by the work of Nikolai Astrup we started thinking of the idea of people who live for their homes. Especially rural families depicted in the work of Astrup. Their lives are dedicated to their family and the up keep of their home,” Sam Cotton, Agi & Sam designer.

“An implosion of self-reference is key this coming season. Consciously distorting reality, in an attempt to reflect on aspects of our lives that have become the everyday. Playful silhouettes and old scrunched up ideas regenerated become a window to a not so distant future,” Alex Mullins.

“We drew inspiration from Bruce Brown’s seminal 1971 motorcycle film, ‘On Any Sunday’, starring Steve McQueen. The collection, like the film, celebrates the carefree attitude of the guys and girls on and off the race tracks. Referencing the sun-bleached palette of the film, key design references and colours are also taken from Belstaff archive pieces of the same era, reinforcing the true Belstaff outerwear and leather icons,” Frederik Dyhr, Belstaff vice president of men’s design.

“We found inspiration in the vibrant and colorful street markets of Marrakech. The stuffy warm air that smells of sweat and spices. The chaotic mixture of colours, texture and materials where east meets west,” Emma Hedlund and Saif Bakir, CMMN SWDN designers.

“We’ve taken our inspiration from the idea of Sunday best, the idea of saving our best clothes for going to church on a Sunday, a tradition that’s almost completely gone away. Instead on Sundays we play football. So today we wear the stripes, hoops and chevrons of our local Sunday league team. Or if we happen to be the manager we wear a baggy suit and an anorak. All of this has inspired the Tautz SS17 collection,” Patrick Grant, E. Tautz designer.
