The Multicolore monogram was a runaway hit,
and Vuitton positioned it accordingly, here affixing the pattern to the
façade
of its New York City flagship on 57th Street in 2008.
The Multicolore collection’s reinterpretation
of Vuitton’s Speedy design was the “It” bag of 2003 and 2004, with many
Celebrities, including Jessica Simpson (pictured), spotted wearing the
style.
Simpson even took the bag camping to Yosemite in an episode of her MTV
reality
show, “Newlyweds.”

The Multicolore monogram bags made their debut
at Louis Vuitton’s spring 2003 runway show (pictured), during Marc Jacobs’s
tenure at the label.

The Multicolore collection was such a success
that it influenced other handbag brands like Dooney & Bourke to produce
their
own multicolored logo-laden bags (pictured).
