Based in Venice, Italy, Michela Casale worked at Diesel and Miss Sixty prior to assuming the role of creative director for Rich & Skinny.
As Rich & Skinny’s creative director, Michela Casale studied brands such as Isabel Marant, Rag & Bone and Brunello Cucinelli over the past two years while preparing for the line’s relaunch.
In addition to offering four basic jean fits — straight, relaxed cigarette, boyfriend and skinny high-waisted, Rich & Skinny creative director Michela Casale also interpreted classic silhouettes, such as bomber jackets, chinos, parkas, field jackets and gauchos. For fabrics, she used denim, gabardine, twill, silver fox fur and artisan-treated leather.
Veering away from Millennials, Rich & Skinny creative director Michela Casale is designing for an older, sophisticated, confident woman. “She’s feminine but at the same time she has a touch of masculinity. She’s sexy but in a modern way,” Casale said.
