Zoe Vorisek, 18, a senior at the Dwight School:
“I just came back from five weeks in Spain for an immersion program. The difference between what they wear and what I wear at home is totally different. It’s interesting how who you’re around influences your style. In my school, [designer] labels are pretty important….It’s kind of annoying.”
Zoe Vorisek, 18, a senior at the Dwight School, wears Joie’s leather jacket over Aritzia’s rayon and spandex turtleneck and Rhié’s cotton skirt. Shoes by Kenneth Cole; bag by Alexander Wang.
Emma Marciano, 17, a senior at Buckley School:
“I wouldn’t categorize my look in a certain way but it’s definitely more edgy chic. I love vintage clothes but I like pairing them with modern clothing. I don’t wear a lot of bright colors. I usually go with gray and black and blue and I prefer winter clothes over summer clothes. My favorite thing is a pair of plain, low-cut Chanel boots that I wear every day, and I’ll either go for a jean jacket or leather jacket.”
Emma Marciano, 17, a senior at Buckley School, wears Levi’s jeans, Seven For All Mankind’s jacket and Raquel Allegra’s sweatshirt. Boots by Sol Sana.
Juliet DiCarlo, 15, a sophomore at Grace Church School:
“Having been in New York City my entire life, I’m exposed to a lot. You get inspired on a daily basis. I love changing it up with whatever is trending, whatever people are wearing. I tend to be flexible. I’m not stuck on dark colors or no patterns….I just change with the seasons.”
Juliet DiCarlo, 15, a sophomore at Grace Church School, wears Forever 21’s nylon bomber jacket over See by Chloé’s cotton shirt and Frame Denim’s cotton and elastane jeans. Shoes by Alexander Wang.
Olivia Giannulli, 15, a sophomore at a westside Catholic school:
“I think my style is a little edgy but simple and classy. I don’t wear a lot of colors, but I like feminine clothing like long pencil skirts with crop tops. I prefer wearing sneakers or anything flat because it’s easier to walk in. My go-to items are these Rag & Bone ripped jeans — ever since I got them I wear them like three times a week — and I have one favorite bag, this little black Balenciaga purse.”
Olivia Giannulli, 15, a sophomore at a westside Catholic school, wears AG’s plaid top with J Brand’s jeans. Boots by Cole Haan; rings and necklace by My Jewel Bar; backpack by H&M.
Miles Nabritt, 16, a junior at Brooklyn Friends School:
“Sometimes people are surprised at the formality of the things that I wear, like these khaki pants. I do wear jeans, but sometimes I like to be different.”
Miles Nabritt, 16, a junior at Brooklyn Friends School, wears H&M’s nylon jacket and cotton T-shirt with Seven For All Mankind’s cotton jeans. Sneakers by H&M.
Gus Acord, 14, a freshman at Campbell Hall School:
“[My style] is kinda casual. I like to wear shirts with a little pocket, and I wear a lot of khaki shorts and pants. In my neighborhood it’s a lot of Volcom black or blue pants, a plain shirt, and sometimes a five-panel hat.”
Gus Acord, 14, a freshman at Campbell Hall School, wears Billabong’s T-shirt and flannel shirt with Volcom’s pants. Shoes by Supra shoes; backpack by Volcom.
Catherine Valencia-McNally, 16, a junior at Suffern High School:
“I dress pretty casually. In the fall, it’s usually sweaters and boots. In the summer, I like to wear cloth shorts. I mostly wear slip-on sneakers and boots. Sometimes I’ll wear heels, but not to school.”
Catherine Valencia-McNally, 16, a junior at Suffern High School, wears Gap’s leather jacket over See by Chloé’s polyester shirt and Tularosa’s cotton blend jeans. Shoes by Schutz; crossbody bag by Mackage.
Eve Baxter, 14, a freshman at Harvard-Westlake School:
“I tend to wear a lot of black, white and gray. My sister always says it’s classic with a twist because I’ll have a few really new modern things mixed in.”
Eve Baxter, 14, a freshman at Harvard-Westlake School, wears Levi’s cotton dress and The Great’s denim jacket. Sneakers by Adidas Stan Smith; backpack by H&M.
Lili Wahlstedt, 17, a senior at The Spence School:
“I think my mom influences my style the most. She’s very laid back, a T-shirt and jeans kind of person. I always grew up around that and that was the norm. I keep it casual.”
Lili Wahlstedt, 17, a senior at The Spence School, wears MM6 Maison Margiela’s polyester and acrylic blend shearling coat with cotton denim vest over Edith A. Miller’s cotton T-shirt and Levi’s cotton and elastane overalls. Shoes by Adidas.
Yasi Guilani, 16, a senior at Taft High School:
“[My style] changes a lot — one day I’ll want to look a little hippie and one day I’ll be more edgy — but I like to be different from others. Like, I wouldn’t just wear a regular pair of blue jeans; it would have to have something on it. These [black Brandy Melville jeans she arrived in] are my favorite. I cut the knees myself.”
Yasi Guilani, 16, a senior at Taft High School, wears Elle Sasson’s jacket, Asos’ shirt and Rebecca Minkoff’s shorts. Shoes by Cole Haan.
Jane Garrett, 14, a sophomore at LaGuardia High School:
“I really like flowy things — like dresses and blouses — and darker colors. And I like leggings or jeans with simple shirts. I don’t like too much jewelry. I like sneakers and flats — no heels.”
Jane Garrett, 14, a sophomore at LaGuardia High School wears Harvey Faircloth’s cotton jacket over H&M’s cotton tank and Maje’s polyester skirt and belt. Shoes by Polo Ralph Lauren.
Jenelle Smith, 17, a senior at Oaks Christian School:
“I’m definitely girly, but I don’t want to seem like I am trying too hard. I want to seem like I just got out of bed and effortlessly put it together — but I really spent like 20 minutes trying to figure it out. I’m always paying attention to whether I need to have my hair up or down or curled or straight. That’s important because you can have a great outfit and then you completely mess up the hair. You have to make sure it’s all on point.”
Jenelle Smith, 17, a senior at Oaks Christian School, wears TNA’s shirt and RVN’s skirt. Sneakers by Converse; backpack by Rebecca Minkoff; necklace by My Jewel Bar.
Nicholas Guerra, 17, a senior at White Plains Senior High School:
“I like wearing Air Max [sneakers] or boat shoes. In the fall, I have this really nice Columbia jacket, or I’ll usually just wear a sweater. I don’t like jeans; I just wear khakis. I don’t feel like I look good in jeans.”
Nicholas Guerra, 17, a senior at White Plains Senior High School, wears John Elliott + Co.’s wool and leather jacket over Burberry Brit’s cotton T-shirt and Levi’s cotton jeans. Sneakers by Diadora.
Mason Beranek, 15, a sophomore at Santa Monica High School:
“It all depends on the day, but on a regular day I’ll wear some khaki pants and some kind of skate shirt. I like RVCA or stuff my mom buys me. I just trust her because I know she’ll do a good job. Sometimes she’ll go to Goodwill and get me, like, old stuff. My dad makes most of my pants sometimes because that’s what he does. And my favorite shoes are Vans because I skate every day.”
Mason Beranek, 15, a sophomore at Santa Monica High School, wears Levi’s sweatshirt and Penguin’s pants. Shoes by Vans.
