Altuzarra: “The idea is to feel fresh, and I love Tom Pecheux for that,” says Gilbert, of the makeup artist who crafted the Nordic beauty look for the show. “He has
magic hands and is very refined. He’s very good with skin. He’s like heaven.”

Zac Posen: “Zac wanted something a bit glamorous,” says Gilbert. “I love the silver eyeliner.
It’s beautiful.”
Suno: “I love looks in makeup that fit with the hair and the story of the fashion show,” says Gilbert. For Suno, makeup artist Alice Lane used Maybelline’s Master Graphic eyeliner to draw a thick line across the outer half of the eyelid. “The little flick adds just a touch of something,” says Gilbert.
The Row: “Tom Pecheux is so delicate with the skin,” says Gilbert. “When the girls come, even though they are young and beautiful, they still look better after.” Gilbert adds that the goal of the hair and makeup was to get as close as possible to the texture of the cashmere, shaved mink and silk in the collection.
Jason Wu: “The makeup is very fresh,” she says. “It was the idea to make the girl be beautiful, of course, but feel beautiful. It’s very light and I like that.”
Thakoon: “The designer wanted something real,” she says of both the hair and makeup. “We all loved the fresh, natural feeling.” Overall, is Gilbert tired of the “fresh” makeup that always seems to dominate most New York runways? “Maybe at the end of fashion week it’s not going to be so natural…” she says with a wink.
